It may appear as a dillogical argument on the choice of language in blogging, but from my point of view it really stands somewhere in my brain and perhaps within someone else too. As per my title of this post I hope my topic of argument is clear to everyone. I am talking about about the Indian languages that are dispersed from Himalaya to Kanyakumari. It will not show the smartness to name all of them but I am keeping believe in your common sense. The point I will raise in this post by asking a question
"Why there are so less blogs written in Indian languages?"
In order to defend my attack, many will shout out about the acceptance, understanding and I totally agree with these points, when we concerned with blogging which is similar like your old days diary (even personal thoughts or events for some bloggers) except from its public presence, so it is obvious to make it in such a way so that it happen to be acceptable verbally and regarding that the only possible way to write it in the universally decoded language English.
You may found myself biased about my language but it is true in sense that most of us do not blog for information trading or for benefit of our own economy, rather just to share our thoughts, opinion, views ( I am not taking those bloggers in account who posts mostly copy paste thing for adsense earning ). So for those who write your own things in your own way it is generally considered it is most explainable in our native language and acceptance of it within native people are most if that is really a nice piece in any sense. Being a Bengali I mostly point towards to availability of Bengali Blogs on net from the Bengali Indians. In Indiblogger I found it is less than 1% of the total bloggers where as in whole internet it will be hardly 1% when it is claimed that Bengali is one the most Popular languages in world. But it is really a matter of joy that our Bangladeshi friends are working on many Bengali blogs which are really appreciable. But the worse thing is the effort is very less from the Indians. The same thing happening for other Indian Languages. It is not a shameful job to write in English but it is always expected to express your thoughts in your own native languages. When I found there are many blogs those are full of very beautiful stories or poems written in English, I really feel proud for their creative skills, but same time I feel aren't they capable of express these in their own languages? In most cases the answer will by "NO" thankful to the perfect marketing of English Language. Even in today's educated Indian child or parents feel proud if their children can not speak the native language, but fluent in English. But believe me , I feel very glad when I found a Bengali Blog written in Bengali Fonts & I think same happen for the others when they found blogs in their mother tongue. It is not a request, but it will be really nice if I found more Indibloggers with blogs in Indian Languges, when writing in Indian Languages and fonts are not really hard job. Indian Languages are not technically challenged anymore. You just need to make yourself a bit native language savy.
